We had a fantastic turnout at our annual Spring Plant Sale on Saturday, May 16th, held at our new location – the Salvation Army Church! The weather was perfect and customers lined up early to get the best selection of plants including hostas, daylilies, iris, native plants, veggie starts and other perennials.
Our Tools and Treasures area was also a great success and was held outside as customers lined up offering a wide selection of garden books, ornaments, and other treasures. Our regular Tool Sharpener was on site to sharpen our members’ tools and offered this service to the public on the day of sale.
It should be noted that this year, our sales reached a record, a truly remarkable achievement considering the venue change. We were initially concerned about getting the word out about the new location, but the outcome exceeded our expectations.
All proceeds from the sale will be reinvested in future club events and provide a scholarship for one or more deserving Secondary School graduates wishing to pursue a career in horticulture.
Thank you to all the volunteers who donated plants in support of the sale and those who came out on the Friday set up day and on the day of sale, we could not have done this without everyone working together as a team.
