DESCRIPTION:An heirloom tomato is an open-pollinated\, non-hybrid heirloom cultivar of tomato. They are classified as family heirlooms\, commercial heirlooms\, mystery heirlooms\, or created heirlooms. They usually have a shorter shelf life and are less disease resistant than hybrids. They are grown for various reasons: for food\, historical interest\, access to wider varieties\, and by people who wish to save seeds from year to year\, as well as for their taste. \nSuzy Gabany\, self proclaimed “Tomato Lady” will join us May 7th to talk all things tomato! \nAlso being held this evening is the Spring Mini Flower & Photography show-watch this space for more info as it becomes available. \n  \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Our 2025 Plant Sale will be held on Saturday\, May 17th \nGardeners know that the selection of locally grown plant materials offered by our Garden Club Members is worth lining up for! You’ll find shrubs\, trees\, houseplants\, perennials\, annuals\, herbs\, veggie starts etc. Additionally there is often a good selection of native plants that are sure to attract pollinators to your gardens. \nThe annual plant sale is the club’s main fund raiser-enabling the club to program interesting speakers and provide an annual scholarship of $1000 to a local student who is pursuing post-secondary education in horticulture or a related field. \nGet there early and prepare to have a blast!
